Pakistan 6 Hong Kong 1
It was a slow start for the former Asian Champions but Pakistan still managed to
eke out a 6-1 win over Hong Kong to start their campaign with a win at the 2007
Asia Cup here on Friday.
Hong Kong actually put up a solid resistance even after trailing 0-3 at the
break. They were brave enough to move up, look for goals and would have scored a
few more but for their slack finishing.
Errors in the Hong Kong defence enabled Pakistan to get three more in the second
half as they rolled past Hong Kong with half a dozen goals.
Pakistan coach Islahuddin was content with the score-line. “I think the three
points were important. We have more matches and we would improve, especially in
the penalty corner department.”
