September 4, 2007 Hong Kong 3 Singapore 2 Trailing 1-2 with ten minutes left, Hong Kong pulled themselves back into the match to score twice and win their Pool A encounter against Singapore 3-2 here on Tuesday. The victory over Singapore gave Hong Kong their first points, three, in the Asia Cup. It would also ensure that they don’t end up last in Pool A. It was Singapore who drew first blood in the 7th minute when Saiful Nizam Bin Md converted a penalty corner. Hong Kong drew level in the 24th minute when Gurvinder Dillon restored parity. Singapore took the lead in the 54th when Hazmi Bin Mohd slotted in a penalty corner perfectly. As the minutes ticked away, Hong Kong pushed their way through the midfield and a penalty corner in the 60th minute allowed them to equalize 2-2. Arif Ali converting with a flick that curved in past the goalkeeper. With two minutes left, Hong Kong took the lead when Harinder Singh Bal deflected in a free hit from outside the circle past the Singapore goalkeeper.
